Brad Porter is the owner of Ultimate Hoofcare servicing Sydney Metropolitan Racing Stables. He began his apprenticeship at the age of 16 and upon completion, was awarded the Tom McGrath Apprentice of the Year Award, which provided him the opportunity to work in Canada for one year. After his year in Canada, Brad returned to Melbourne to start up his own business based out of Flemington and Cranbourne Racecourses.

In 2009, he secured the position of Master Farrier with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and in 2011, he took over as Head Farrier. He returned to Australia in late 2014 and over the past 10 years has built up a successful farrier business, Ultimate Hoofcare, servicing leading thoroughbred trainers in Sydney.
